What's wrong with shooting at f5.6 on a crop if your subject is far away enough for the whole frame to be in focus?
Someone took great insult in an image being shot at f5.6 instead of f9 because "shutter speed too high could have stopped down moar!". Is there some unwritten rule you should always aim to get a shutter speed below 500 or whatever?
