1) It's smaller and has better form factor for slipping into pockets than pretty much every other point and shoot. This is something people who have never held one find difficult to understand.
2) It's weatherproofed
3) It opens up its aperture all the way to f2.8 before it starts reducing the shutter speed below 1/250th. Most other p&s do the opposite to save face for less than stellar AF and/or optics
4) The autofocus is very very reliable. It rarely misses focus. I think the last time mine did was about 10 rolls ago.
5) The lens is actually very nice. Sharp and contrasty even when wide open.
If you're indeed asking about the Stylus aka MJU...it's level of desire doesn't make much sense. It's way bigger than the MJU II, doesn't have weatherproofing, the AF isn't as accurate, and the lens is more average. It's not worth specifically seeking out like the MJU II is.
