I find that kind of photography satisfying. Just as someone who catches a fish and throws it back it doesn't really change anything, or advance anything, I enjoyed the process of taking the shot and am happy with the outcome. Its a hobby. I shared it because I happen to know that there are others who enjoy traditional architectural shots.
I appreciate the shot you pointed out, its more creative than my shot, but I wasn't aiming to create an emotive image. Look at the work of Bernd and Hilla Becher for a similar appreciation of interesting forms taken in an archival style without any embellishment. You can call it soulless or banal, but thats alright to me. I like it. I dont have to create a narrative or pursue a deep emotional response with my images to enjoy them. If you were more open minded, or even spent a little bit of time examining the history of art, you would see that the power of an image can be natural and not coaxed by the hand work of the artist.
