Hell yeah. I was torn between black, brown, and mint. Black looks amazing but it's not too different from a Fujifilm, and I'd kick myself for missing my chance at a unique color if they get rare down the line. Mint is super unique and a nice fresh color but I feel like I'd regret it after a while. The Brown isn't just brown, it's like a nice understated dark camel leather orange and it's striking but still kind of classy. Considered getting the 28mm kit too, that's a good looking lens. But for the stuff I photograph, I really need that basic standard range. And 28 on crop isn't my favorite focal length. I like 35 more and I have a relatively new DX F mount 35mm I can adapt later.

I feel you there. I love tiny little zoom lenses and briefly had that lens when I had a Z50... super sharp and optical stabilization is as good as any ibis not by Olympus. That said, I'm pairing this 28 with the 40 f2 and the new 18-140 superzoom. A nice all-rounder, just lacking at the wide end.

The only thing I'm really gonna miss is the 24 equiv which I do love. the 16 f1.4 is the one lens I really miss from my Fuji kit.

Yeah the extra charge for the color was hard to stomach, especially when black does look really, really good. And more authentic. But while I was carefully thinking it over and weighing the pros and cons my hands moved on their own and I preordered the brown one. I knew I'd like it the most so fuck it.

I'm really looking forward to the 40 f/2. I hope it's not a thousand bucks or some shit though

Nah it uses the Z mount though. Just the thought of parting with my F-mount glass makes me sweat. But I really have to. Ever tried to sell Pentax shit? Not easy. The F mount will eventually die. Sad days.

The z-mount library is still really young and really expensive. And the f-mount has so many good lenses and there's such a huge cheap used library. But the z mount will be good eventually. In the mean time the FTZ adapter supposedly works pretty well but it's kinda thick. I'll probably grab one eventually. You're supposed to be able to get one for a hundred bucks from Nikon's site with the purchase of a new camera, but the Z fc preorder page didn't let me. If I buy one I'll call them and make them give me that deal or I'll just get one from ebay.

Its still early days for the Z mount for sure. I won't be jumping ship soon, but there will be a time when all the F mount stuff will be hard to move. I managed to get most of my kit by trading up through the seconds market, so I don't want to be left with antiquated glass. Don't get me wrong, a 70-200 f2.8 or a 85 f1.4 will always be worth SOMETHING (I hope), but I wanna switch while I can still get some good cash off them.
