>>3910854That's pretty awesome.
>>3909415Yup. A few magazines here and there over the last two years.
A lot of models and photographers are citing online magazines as credits now. I've been in some cause it gets me out there marginally more and they're more likely to take stuff I want to shoot (lots of themed issues - seasonal colours or broad concepts etc).
Trouble is, at the end of the day it's a free on-line thing. I dunno if anyone actually pays to own a physical copy or not; so is there really any weight to it?
I've had some luck with print and that always feels pretty good; like you know someone's seen your stuff and gone "Yeah that's worth me putting in something I'm selling". That tends to be more stuff like cosplays and the like - it happened recently, a model sent off some examples of stuff we'd done and they wanted written confirmation from me to publish.
It's great to see your stuff in print, but it's never brought me more work at this stage. I just enjoy doing it. A lot of physical publications are saying "We don't want to pay you, but also we won't accept this if you've posted it anywhere else, including social media" and they can fuck right off. You want that, you can pay.
Check model's publishing credits, whittle them down to a few that're still active and ideally printing, fire off your work as attached samples every few months. Keep an eye on magazines that do "theme" issues if you're not already in a specific niche that still prints like gardening/travel/trains or something. Do it for fun and you'll never be disappointed.
