>>3916451>dont walk around with the camera attached.>you realize you can still keep your sling>QD levers existI pick up my shit and go, i dont carry bags or multiple things slung separately and assemble them later. I prefer a single object that is good to go immediately.
>why the fuck would you use a metal spikeThe stupid-easy-to-lose rubber foot came off... and got lost.
>monopod headsObviously my gearfaggotry needs to get it's rookie numbers up. Iv'e never even heard of such a thing. But I also haven't looked at any gear purchases for nearly a decade.
In any case, constraining the head to one rotational axis still lets it flop around, just in one less axis.
So if I fuck up and it flops.. it still flops.
I'm pretty sure the bigass trigger mechanism on the neotec that allows it to be extended/retracted (and kinda needs to be held or easily grabbed all the time) would dictate the angle I installed any 1-axis head, so that might not be ideal either.
I might look at getting a simpler monopod and 1axis head though...but I'm not really interested in a bunch of researching new gear.
No monopod is pretty easy right now.
>collapses down, Longer to extend, but smaller and lighter.
vs
instant to extend, longer and heavier
...meh. Still not really motivated to research and spend.
> 65"That might not be quite tall enough for a 193cm(6'4") person. I'd have to retest.
>get a ballhead which isnt shittyIt's graphite iirc. Manfrotto
They all release dark powder, which is often slightly greasy to the feel, simply by virtue of the friction based mechanism.
I don't mean grease-gun greasy, i just mean shit on my hands i might put in my eyes or wipe dark marks on things my face/clothes.
>as i said, my monopod and head weigh lesscamera and grip is 2.2kg iirc, monopod is 1.1kg
3.3kg gets a bit heavy when its rotational momentum works the wrist as much as I find it does.
Smaller would be better, but i'm not really sold at this time.
