>It sounds a bit autistic no, not at all, it's better than not having ANY interest at all.
> So I thought I'd get a camera to take pictures of night time glowing stuff, if urban nightscapes if what you're interested in, then go around for walks at night. Bring your camera, but don't pressure yourself that you "have to" end up with several keepers at the end of the night. When you see something that is interesting and you would like to share with someone, then take your camera out then take a picture of what part of that stands out to you the most.
Don't worry, there will be nights when you might bring your camera with you and not end up with any pictures. That's as much a learning experience as ending up with several good photos. Because you're teaching yourself to curate before pressing the shutter: if you had a night without any photos, you've learned that that setting (or subject, or lighting condition, or etc.) isn't what ends up as interesting photos for you.
But if you force yourself to take photos because you "ought to", you'll just end up with a bunch of mediocre, boring snapshits, and then feel bad when you get home to edit them. That's why so many newbies start off trying to "polish a turd" in post processing, when it was a photo that should have been deleted, or never taken in the first place.
