It was over 10m exposure, but i *needed* to test my new nd1000 filter for potential color shifts, and i think it’s not that bad in that regard. Didn’t have time to wait for better light, but for me at least it conveys the absolutely brutal sun that almost killed my doggos that day.

I didn’t develop them myself, but i can see that magenta cast. Also, with long exposures velvia50 likes to be green-yellowish.

Yeah, that's just classic overexposed greens. They move to yellow with histogram adjustments as well. It's maybe even possible that you can reverse them back on initial scan. But I wouldn't consider it a bad look as it as well.

Dude these colours are completely fucked. Either your scanning is fucked (well it is, these look like low res 35mm flatbed scans lol), or whoever developed your film had borked chemicals if the slides actually look like this. Velvia maybe goes a touch green after 60s of exposure, but nothing like this

you don't need 10 minutes of exposure to get that shot, I can get the same thing with a two minute exposure or if you were smart and waited for the sun to drop and get overcast lighting your colors wouldn't have been as fucked and you could have gotten away with a 1 minute exposure.

E6 slide film has narrow latitude in general, Velvia especially so. You don't really have much room on the shadow or highlight side so you can't just meter for the shadows and hope you can recover the highlights.

sure, yes I agree but >>3914873 said only film not slide. I always meter for the subject in the shot or average out between the highlights and lowlights. But that doesn't mean if I ever did decide to meter for the highlights that I couldn't cause the film said so.
