Unbranded pink P&S. OH SHIT, this is bad. Worse than that shitty Kodak from
>>3935934, at least in terms of image quality, although honestly it handles better. What's really weird about this thing is that it is totally unbranded. There is literally NOTHING written on the (pink and yellow) exterior of this camera. I assumed there would be some sort of information in the EXIF, but nothing there either. There's no "About" screen in the menus either. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. The thing's a ghost.
Based on the tiny size (I thought it was a literal toy at first when I spotted it at the Goodwill), pink color, and things like froggy-face filters you can turn on, I'm guessing this was aimed at small children, but I feel like the controls are too convoluted for the average child to figure out--I was only able to figure it out because I work in software development and so have experienced a lot of badly-developed software in my life.
Among other fun features, it appears to have a 640x480 sensor but there are menu options to output as 1.3MP, 2MP, 3MP, 5MP, 8MP, or 12MP. At first, I was impressed that it seemed to be 12 megapixels and thought it was just a side effect of smartphones making tiny high-res sensors super cheap, but then I actually got the photos off of the camera and this is what I found. You get blotchy pixellated photos at any resolution other than VGA.
That being said:
1. It's surprisingly responsive! Like, no shutter lag!
2. Has an internal USB-rechargeable battery
3. Uses micro SD cards (and it came with a 32GB card, which isn't too shabby, which included a bunch of shitty pictures taken by the child who owned it before me)
4. It has a selection of video games. Honestly, it's worth keeping just for the games, I think. Some of these are kinda fun.
