What's your experience regarding shutter count on dslr? Is it a meme or is the probability for the camera to blow up really high?
I sold my last camera 3 years ago and I I'm in the market for a cheap dslr to start practicing again.
I found a used D300 I can buy for 100€, but it has 333,000 actuations, while Nikon claims a maximum of 150,000.
Would you buy it?

That's not an aperture, that's a blade circle.
Depending on the lens the apertures vary in blade circles.

No. Most people recommend only buying cameras under 50k clicks. They haven't been hard to find for me, and ebay auctions have given the best deals.

Nah, but not because of shutter count. Soon all will move to mirrorless, and they're mostly shutter proof. Even when it fails, you're left with working electronic shutter.

New cams are cheaper on the long run. Old mount, old lenses, they're going to break eventually with no option of repairing them.
It's a fact that mirrorless shutters are rated for much longer life, and it's also fact that they can still take pictures when mechanical shutter is broken.

Forget the dslr, mirrorless if the future.

If you're dirt poor, get a used sony NEX 5n or any fujifilm x-trans or xtrans-II camera, there's loads of them for really cheap on ebay and the sensor is still decent for social media

Ask yourself this: when was the last time you saw or heard about a shutter dieing from anything other then damage (don't stick your fingie in the lens-hole)? And was it a modern electronic shutter, or was it an ancient mech shutter with congealed ancient grease?

If you really want to buy a DSLR in 2021 go all out with Pentax.
If you have less than $1000 to spend, it's mirrorless for you. Seriously, don't buy a DSLR under $1000.

Why? If you can get a good deal on a DSLR what makes an old mirrorless worth more?
It's not like you'll be able to afford anything other than old adapted lenses anyway.
