hello anons, i was wondering if someone could maybe recommend me some photography books they thought were good.
i want to see some good looking pictures!

I'm intrigued by the book, although it seems really heavy on hue adjustments and I'm getting a little bored of the ultra blue white balance night shot esthetic. Certainly interesting compositions though.

I wish I could afford more photography books, they're expensive and hard to find a pdf for.

Check thrift stores for photobooks. It's easy to pick them out among the other books because they are so large and often have eye-catching covers.

That's more about architecture facts and investigation than photos, i loaned it twice and it's pretty good.

Taschen has crazy sales sometimes. They're located in Germany but shipping is only like $15 to N. America. Pic related, the books are HUGE too.

If you like that Liam Wong meme stuff, you may enjoy Greg Girard's books..but they cost ~$50 new.

I'm shilling for Taschen too, i bought THREE Wolfgang Tillmans books for less than 30USD
i also have an Alec Soth book that cost like 7USD

I have a few of Greg’s books and they are not very good photographs and the print quality is terrible. Cheap paper

I have a big problem with many photobooks. specifically, ones that print photos across two pages. it looks awful to have the image curve inward and then back outward. how does anybody think this is acceptable? absolutely blows my fucking mind.

You gotta adapt to what's available, i've seen some magazines have some weird single page that it's extra long and folds into that part of the magazine but it looks bad from outside.

The image might lose the "meaning" if it's only printed on the normal page height.

lay flat binding is too expensive for mass produced books by publishers. You tend to only find it in special and limited versions

I know what you mean, but I think a lot of photography is about what's in the image, not the image itself, how it was captured or the person taking it.
