The lighting isn't great. I think what makes this scene cool is just how many sandy hills there are protruding from the landscape all over the place, but because they're all fully lit, it's hard to tell just how many hills there are without looking closely. Try shooting earlier in the day when the sun is lower and the hills will cast longer shadows on one another.
The sky is also boring - one bit of landscape advice I see a lot is that you want clouds in the sky because a plain blue sky tends to look like boring, wasted space. And consider using a polarizer, it looks pretty hazy. I'm pretty sure they make ones that attach to your phone, no idea how good they are though.
