>>3951748More likely several days of shooting stitched together. It would obviously be a very expensive project either way. I still think the chopper, the dude with the Phase One and a couple of Photoshop guys would be the cheaper project. There's also the issue of risk. With a competent landscape photographer and a camera you know you're going to get an image that's good enough. With CGI artists you never know what kind of uncanny valley bullshit they're going to push on you.
>>3951750The weird shadow area looks dodged, cloning was probably to get rid of trash, and pixel perfect ocean spray is most easily achieved by pointing your camera at actual ocean spray and pressing the button. All of these suggest that it's a photograph.
