>>3961912>Will tryThat's probably the problem since everything else was longshot solutions that are surprisingly common. Standard developers generally need at least 30 seconds of agitation at the start if you pour and get the lid on quickly, 1 minute if you don't. It isn't rodinal or HC110 so as long as you aren't aggressive with the agitation, there isn't noticable increase in grain. The issue if you look at datasheets is that the film is ~80% developed after a minute or two in the soup. The first minute is critical, forgetting to agitate around the end barely matters at all and can reduce grain. Going up to 5 gentle inversions wouldn't hurt. Developers that don't contain tylenol, drain cleaner, mystery formulae, or catechins and pyro are very forgiving.
If the sprocket holes on the leading end look like the top of a castle wall, the pointy bits can catch on the reel and the film can buckle or slip off. Some people use nail clippers to get a good starting edge. Some people cut their papers with a seax. I haven't shot much 35mm or used a Patterson until recently, but the littlest things seem to matter more.
Also, congrats on your fist fucked up roll. Lesser men hang up the towel, filmfags cease lusting for the result, continue on and are better for it. The constant threat of dozens of variables fucking up is too much for the weak.
>>3961919It's not ideal but they're idiot proof for bulk development. Terrible waste of chemicals otherwise and they ruin a lot of the math for working solutions but they do the job. It's not like anyone but PMKanon is burning film just to make sure his D-23 derived soup isn't too hot.
