Any fellow trainchadspotters around here? Trams, buses, boats, planes, subways and idk what else is fair game too, just photos of all kinds of transport in general.
Quality photos on topic and with a bit of info aswell please. At the very least what did you take a photo of, place and date. Lemme start.
In this photo I captured the 123.025 locomotive, belonging to the ČD Cargo company, slowly rolling through the Vltava valley with a freight train inbetween the Praha-Sedlec and Praha-Podbaba stations.
These locomotives are commonly known as "Uhelka" from the czech world "Uhlí", which in English means coal. Basically they are quite heavily associated with coal trains in the north of Bohemia and in the Ostrava region, hence the nickname. Even though these locomotives are already 50 years old (their predecessors, the class 122 locomotives, even 4 years older, also still in regular service), they are still among the strongest locomotives in our country, hence why they are still a somewhat common sight on our railways. Their end is in sight though, as a full on implementation of ETCS (European Train Control System) is looming over the horizont. Once that happens, the vast majority of these will be put out of service with a few being left as a reserve or for use on railway lines without any plans of ETCS implementation, like the coal railways in the north, near the city of Most.
This exact one right here is one of my favorites, because of her appauling state of her paintjob. Basically she kinda looks as if she had the skin of an acne ridden teen. I believe she got her paintjob in 2009, and since she is not among the best exemplars of this class, I doubt she will get a new one before she is put out of service.
