These feel so vivid. Like a mix of the best qualities of film and digital. Did you add grain to them? Love the light.

I never add grain but I do use a "film recipe". Fujifilm color chrome effect is magic and the only reason I use Fuji.
Saying that they only look good in good sunlight which I was VERY lucky with being in Orkney.

What exactly does this do? I've read about it and seen a few example pictures but it's still somewhat unclear to me. It reintroduces gradients into highly saturated spots of colors that would otherwise just be uniform blobs, right?

I don’t know lol. I’ve always been baffled by colour science. All I know is that it makes my images feel more comfy. I couldn’t recreate it in post for love nor money.

are you suggesting fuji jpeg magic can't be reproduced with presents on any old RAW image?
i assume by saying you couldn't recreate it with money you mean you maybe bought some presets that purported to replicate fuji film sims but they didn't work?
