Photography is not meant to be strictly for militaristic surveillance, it's meant to be a tool for both media and art.
Cheap, imperfect lenses allow you to make the photo have a different feeling or message than a perfect lens. It shows that you accept and want to expose the world for its flaws rather than deny them.
