Does arc welding frequency (specifically TIG) mess up nearby smartphones in some way? I'm getting mixed answers.

I want to put a dark screen in front of my phone and video record my welds to study the good ones when they occasionally happen. But I've been told phones can malfunction in some way or another being near a powered-on welder.
