>>3968725Why does the subject have a rainbow flag guitar strap? It does not add to the aesthetics of the photograph. It rather subtracts, and distracts, takes my mind off photograph, away from music, and toward the man in question. The pose is clear. A talentless hack, looking and fretting downward, much like where his passions drove him, pallid from disease, and aging prematurely to boot. As for the rest of the photograph, it is substandard, saturated with as much noise as a webcam, with poor balance and again calls back to the strap, where it is eerily the only colorful things. This is the modern society. Where music is forced. Where the only colors we see are the ones others demand. Where there is nothing but cold artificial hues and frozen limited movements across a very limited canvas. A vaccinated heat death where the only rays of consolation are those laser focused bursts of rainbows so intense, that if looked into directly, demand your retinas and brains. Aesthetically, this picture is repugnant, without artistic merit, but if its broader and philosophical social implications, by means of it being indicative of our times, it is perfect, and as such I rank the photograph 10/10 for capturing anno domini MMXXI to a tee.
