That Provia film simulation doesn't fuck around with saturation
And the worst thing is that it's actually quite accurate, especially looking at the blue in the sky

Sometimes it's an okay film simulation though
Much like true Velvia, it's absolutely not appropriate at all times though

I fucking despise the Velvia film sim on Fuji. It has no redeeming factor at all.
The ironic thing is that you'd expect Ken Rockwell to love it but he thinks it's inferior to just setting the saturation of his Nikon to +100. In one of his reviews he genuinely says the greatest jpegs are those made by 2010 DSLRs with saturation maxed.

The issue is that it doesn't work when you want it to.
For example last year I caught a very nice looking purple sky with pink clouds. Perfect moment for Velvia you'd think. Instead it just makes the scene look like a Ken fever dream
