Sure the technical aspect is interesting and winding the film after the mechanical clank of the shutter is super satisfying but when you're trying to capture a fleeting image trying to line up the barely visible focus patch in the viewfinder just gets in the way. This is why I mentioned vacation pics, if you're just posing in front of the louvre pyramid or whatever, taking a few seconds to set shutter, adjust aperture and focus in is fine. If you're trying to capture a family moment and you're messing with settings it'll be too late.
