>>4001433If this is your first Fuji camera, go through this video with camera in hand:
https://youtu.be/T9AS__60t2I it's long but knowing your camera well will pay dividends.
1. I have an auto ISO setting for daylight/misc. and another for night. So daylight would be something like default 200 max 3200 min ss 1/60, night would be default 800 max 12800 min ss 1/60. And then just use exposure compensation if the shutter speed is too slow (I shoot raw)
2. Capture One Express is great for basic stuff, really recommend it. As you can see above people are reccommending the Fuji Raw Studio for film sims but I have no experience with it besides the one time I downloaded it, was appalled by the ui and consequently uninstalled it.
3. Really depends person to person and how you use your camera. I just set the screen to max brightness and set it to LCD only mode (I barely use the evf). Our favorite onionsboy Omar Gonzales has a video on what he does
https://youtu.be/q5lHz5fqDmI with a new camera and some other specific settings for street photography and portraits. Check out him, Andrew & Denae, Roman Fox, John Branch, Faizal Westcott, pal2tech, etc to name a few
4. I don't shoot video so idk about battery life for that but I've gotten really good at preserving battery with stills. Camera is off the second I'm not taking photos and I never run out of battery, even when taking hundreds of photos. That said you may just want to get a powerbank and a cage if you're going to be doing video often.
And other than that just a few tips: the iso/ss dials can get knocked really easily. Use the locks. It can be so annoying to be done shooting and realize your iso was fucked.
