Talking about photography for a moment: I mentioned this previously, about focus and subjects, but this is a prime example of what I struggled with. The main subject for this picture were the old teahouses lining either side of the road, and I really wanted to capture all of it, on both sides. Yet, since the houses are on the left and right of me, if I focus on them (as I did in this picture) then the center (where I believe most viewers' eyes are drawn to first) ends up out of focus. I could have taken just one side of the street, but that's not the picture I wanted to take. I could have tried to get everything in focus, but I don't know if that would have been possible, and even had it been, I'm not sure it would have captured what I wanted either.
In any case, that's just the ramblings of a completely amateur photographer.
