Hey /p/
Anyone else feel that they can't enjoy digital photography after they've tried analog?
I can't get the hit that I once did with digital.
Nowadays I gravitate towards analog exclusively for this.

I got tired of analog and switched back to digital. I felt limited by all the scanning and the costs associated with buying new rolls and getting them developed. Film cameras are fun and all, but for output digital has it beat, in my opinion
Either way, it doesn't matter as long as you're shooting the photos you want to and are improving your skills

It's a phase. Probably a necessary one for most photographers growing their skills. You'll get over it and go back to digital with a fresh view on things. Stop taking boring photos of lamps.

I was alive when analog was all you had, and dealt with buying new film rolls, and getting them developed just for grainy faded images like your in your post.

Digital is a godsend

I think it's not the film itself it's the fun of operating the SLR itself with the mechanical dials and film advance lever. If there was a DSLR that required you to pull a mechanical film advance after each photo you'd probably enjoy it just as much as shooting film.

I catch your feels but I'm similar to >>3997875 in the way I grew up with analogue and went to school with analogue, but dropped off as film became harder to develop in my teens and then impossible in adulthood because all the photo labs shut down in my country years ago. BUT: I've discovered it again by buying adapter kits to fit my old lenses to newer bodies

You forgot to mention it's out of focus. Out of focus because film is about the feels and the artistic quality and by that I mean not being sharp. Film is superior because it's technically inferior because it's less sharp. Well actually it's also got muuuuch better highlight roll of than digital because I just love having to over expose every shot so I don't completely lose the shadows. Did I mention how great film is? It's also technically superior to digital because large format is really really sharp and prints really big. But oh also film is superior because it's less sharp. Being less sharp makes it more interesting. Unless it's more sharp then it's better. But it's only better when film does it. Being technically better only matters when it applies to film. It's worse when it doesn't apply.

I've been doing the photography hobby for maybe a decade now. I come back to film from time to time, it's nice, it feels nice, it's fun. Yeah, it's a hassle to buy films, develop, scan, etc. but it's fun.
I don't like the dichotomy that you somehow have to choose digital or analog. You need to chill and enjoy it.

Never heard of this epson camera. It does seem like the perfect fit but it's out of my budget at the moment.
I might look into fuji's offerings though. They seem to have everything outside of the crank.
