Any recs for M3 servicing in the UK?
Just got a barn-find M3 at auction. Thankfully the finder has no delamination or corrosion (a cracked diffuser, but that appears to have no effect at all on the framelines) but the shutter is... weird.
B works just fine, curtains open and close fully.
1s times correctly, but the first curtain does not open fully ('hangs' just before end of travel).
Anywhere between 1/2s to X-sync will sometimes run at correct time and sometimes just X-sync, but the first curtain never fully opens (hangs about 3/4 open).
Fast speeds after X-sync at least sound like they are functioning, I don't have the equipment to verify them or check curtain travel or spacing (but backlighting the shutter at least shows light at the extreme edge of travel, so any hangup can't be too extreme).
Apart from a bit of dirt everything other than the shutter seems good so I'd probably do better getting it fixed than selling as-is and gambling on another. Though if it's an easy fix, I'd rather have a go myself than pop out a few hundred, not too bothered about the wax seal.
