>>4011798In this case I'm doing it as a volunteer, helping out my home town and stuff (honestly had fun, don't mind it), but the way to charge this would be based on how long I spent there, how long the editing should take me + a fee
Basically fix my hourly rate and work of that.
So if I had been hired to it rather than volunteer, given the fact it'd be a gig paid for by the city (Which means all I can expect is a low rate), I'd say 15-20 bucks an hour. maybe 14 hours spent on site, I expect to spend a maximum of 5 hours editing the pictures, let's round it up to a total of 20 hours, and that makes 400 bucks.
Now, 400 bucks is shitty pay, so I'd like to ask from 20 to 33% more for my services to make it worthwhile.
of course that's all hypothethical, and it all varies depending on the amount of work and most importantly: Who's paying my bills and how much can I charge them without scaring them off?
And based on that you can push the price up to 2000 eurodollars for a couple of days + proper editing. I think the average pay would be around 1000, but it's often less.
You can't just slide rule the price of your services, it's gonna vary from event to event, unless you do it regularly with the same employer (fees aren't the same freelance as with an agency, etc), or you're able to always provide the same services and that's why they pick you.
