>>4009140>>4009267Having had all versions of the 50mm. You're dead wrong. The bokeh on the STM is sufficient, the AF is much better on this lens as well as the general optics.
You want to go full bokeh mode, sure, shoot the 1.2L wide open, but this lens has a big trade-off in regards to sharpness, it diffuses around the shape of your subject. That gives the "dream like" look people love. I rarely shoot wide open with it. The lens is a beast though.
The 1.4 has soft bokeh, but the 1.8 reaches enough to make proper shots for a fraction of the price, I paid 35 euros for mine on the 2nd hand market as everyone and their kids buys this one as their first lens for their DSLR.
I sold the 1.4, kept both the 1.2 and 1.8 STM with proper reason and got some extra cash I could put in proper lenses.
