>>4015320I've been walking the same route the last few times I've gone out to take pictures and I picked up which bushes and trees the birds like to sit in. After that it's just finding an angle to stand at and waiting with your camera ready until they finally decide to move closer to the outside of the bush where the branches aren't so dense. Then you just need to be fast enough to move a couple of steps if there's a better angle, compose, focus, and take the picture before the little buggers move again.
I try not to get too close or make too much noise so I don't spook them. It helps having a 300mm on my olympus so I have some decent reach.
I try my best to get a couple of decent shots and then continue my route until I get to another spot that the birds like and repeat.
