wondering if anyone could help me figure out what the fuck is wrong with my camera. I took these photos and for some reason they came out with this weird sprawling mess over them. I used a canon eos m10 which I'ved had for a year or so

Just so you know, when you shoot at that tiny of an aperture, the sharpness of your photos actually decreases. The minuscule amount of light coming through actually loses resolving power.

Also, the dirt/fungus or whatever is in your lens is coming through more clearly due to the increased depth of field provided by f/25. Also, it is more visible due to shooting a bright background (the sky).

thanks for the tip about aperture, how are my settings weird though? if i'm shooting handheld, the longest shutter speed i can do without blurring the image is roughly 1/125.

Why are you trying to use the longest possible shutter time? Something like f8 would have been enough to get most of >>4020204 in focus. Then you could have used a far faster shutter speed.

Yes but having a lower F setting (wider aperture) also let's more light in at the expense of depth of field.
More light with wider aperture=less shutter time is needed to achieve the same amount of light on the sensor.

ahhhhh, i see what you're saying now. for the photo on the street I could've (or probably should have) used a lower f number at the expense of some focus, in order to raise the shutter speed. thanks man

focal length yes but its always a seperate entry, in this case the focal length is 45, and its saying the 35mm equiv is 88.7mm, which is closer to 2 than 1.6, the lens listed is the M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3...so either Canon is shortchanging users with an actul 8.9 max instead of 6.3 or OP is a LARPing troll modifying his exit as le epic troll

Anon obviously the problem is you have dirt somewhere on the camera; either lens or sensor. If you've not done any cleaning recently then the problem isn't solved.
And you're still shooting at stupidly small apertures for no good reason. Look at your photo at 100% and notice how soft it is compared to some of the other photos on this board (there are some, somewhere, I swear). Shooting at f/11 and letting some of the image fall slightly out of focus is preferable to the whole photo looking like a pinhole photo.

I'm starting to suspect le ebin trole as well.
