Is it possible to achieve good photography with a 100€ camera? If so, what is a good choice?

I have none. I want to buy a new camera as I have 100 bucks to spare and am holding myself back from wasting them on vidya. (phones don't count pls)

your phone has a better sensor than anything you could get for that price, that's just not a realistic price range for interchangeable lens cameras and compacts have been dead for so long smartphones have long surpassed their capabilities. you could buy used analog cameras for that price but film costs a fucking shitton expecially these days

Plenty of cheap digital (and film) compacts out there. Maybe a Canon PowerShot G5 - probably more camera than most people need.

This is probably my favorite photo I ever took with my PowerShot S90. I think that camera is one good choice. The PowerShot line in general.

start with your phone (dng files) or buy a used eos rebel t5i + cracked lightroom.

This was a trip to Greece 9 years ago, way before I actually got into photography. All full auto. I never had any focusing issues with this camera.

Get an Ilford B&W HP5 Disposable Film Camera or some other colour disposable film camera.

All in you are looking at less than $40 including the price of the camera, shipping, getting the film developed / scanned etc.

And you know what, $40 may seem like a lot for 27 or so photos but at the end of the day you will be able to keep physical copies of your photos via the film strip and won't be stuck with some shit $100 digital camera that no one will want to buy from you. Plus if you find you are not into it, no worries, you use the camera and throw it away.

100 is very low to be starting out.
With 100 i'd say save up for a better phone with a nice camera in it instead of going compact route, modern phones make better images than older compacts.
t - got an iphone 13 recently and it's images are surprisingly decent. it's no match for my X-T4, but damn if it doesn't take some photography knowledge to see differences and a large screen or big print, most casuals won't even notice anymore I guess.

Just use your phone. Your photos will have the phone photo look but you just have to accept it and focus on taking interesting photos which is the hard part anyway no matter how perfect your gear is.
Just keep on it and get a 2nd hand crop camera kit from last 10 years when you can afford it.

Good idea although in reality a basic film development kit is going to cost you $100 and a basic film scanner is going to cost you at least $150. So $250 total. If you want to get photos that are similar in quality to lab scans then you need to spend more on a scanner so think at least $500 total investment. At $500 you are better off giving your film to a lab until you reach the point where you are shooting more than 10 135 rolls a month.

A Patterson is $30, tf-5 is $15, liquid developers run around $10 but you can splurge on hc110 for $35 if you want and get as many uses as rodinal with slightly less grain. The scanner is the problem but a used v600 is $189 all day on eBay.

Get a used one. Some entry level DSLR if you are lucky, or some compact, like the other anons suggested.
Don't start with fucking film, 100€ will get you a few rolls at most. Probably like one as you have to get the camera to.
Especially don't save up and buy a fucking flagship phone for twice the price of a good camera setup, like that retard iPhone 13 anon suggested.

you can't really learn about how light works with a phone because it's all auto. OP should buy a cheap second hand dslr on ebay or alternative site (literally any old crappy dslr with a basic lens) to learn the basics of composition, light etc.

that's not true. Some android phones have manual modes built in to default camera app. If yours doesnt install a different camera app from the store. $100 doesnt get you very much camera, better off practicing with what you have (and that's on you all the time) while you save some money.

100%. You can get a d40 used for $35-40 and a 50mm 1.8 for about 60-70 if you get a little lucky. Or you can git it with the kit lens for $90ish. Def enough to get started
