i once dropped a 7d with the plastic fantastic nifty fifty on it and the lens fucking snapped in half.

7d was fine tho, sold it afterwards to fund my XT2 (worst mistake of my life)

clamshell unibody design, xt1 is the same.
the strap lugs are also mounted in really weak spots.

xt3 has a completely different assembly with an internal frame it seems, but i havent had any hands on experience with it
