How much do you value weather resistance? How careful are you with your gear? My lenses aren't weather resistant by the body is. Personally I:
- hike mountains with it in my hand for most of the climb
- bring it paddle boarding in a waterproof bag and take it out to shoot when stopped
- take it out on rainy days and shoot from under my umbrella/jacket

Nigga I shot Niagara Falls up close on a boat with a 20D+35mm f2 kit. None of that was remotely weather sealed / resistant and oh boy did that kit get wet on that cruise. Later on, I simply wiped it all off with a dry cloth and everything was fine.

Having a water / weather resistant camera is quite something good but also so damn overrated for most cases.

On one rainy hike I had temporary issues with a weather sealed body (7D) and a non weather sealed lens. Fortunately they went away after some time drying in the sun that afternoon. Same body with a weather sealed lens seemed like it could endure a hurricane.

Last time I had money...before the fucking pandemic bullshit...and overhauled my kit to FF, weather sealing was a priority. I only have one non-sealed lens, a Rokinon 24mm f/1.4 whose sole purpose is landscape astro so it will never encounter weather.

Mostly a meme unless in extreme conditions I think. Have a D3300 and non weather sealed lenses, never had any problems. Haven't used it in very harsh weather though, some rain but not too heavy.
