>>4036897>Did I make a mistake?>I wanted to get into street photography. I pulled the trigger on the Rebel T8i without doing adequate research, and I think I want a mirrorless camera.T8i is a fine camera. It's basically an 80D in a Rebel body. Good sensor, 45pt AF, flippy screen. The drawbacks are minor things related to Rebel bodies. It likely uses a pentamirror OVF instead of pentaprism (so smaller and dimmer), and I believe lacks a 2nd control dial.
The only real advantage of mirrorless for street is if you get a really small mirrorless with a pancake lens to be less obtrusive. But the T8i is pretty small itself, can be shot waist level via flippy screen, and you can put a pancake lens on it to minimize size.
>Are DSLRs still relevant? No offense, but that's a dumb question. Mirrorless doesn't produce better pictures.
>>4036902>That said, I hope you didn't pay too much for the t8i considering that (new) you could buy a RP for the same price which is both mirrorless and full frame. He wouldn't get a lens though. With lens the RP is probably $300-400 more.
