Other than doing my own headshots for social media and getting some printed for photocard use, I don't want my photo taken. Also, I have no friends or family; much less anyone to take photos of. I prefer taking photos of streets, buildings, landscapes and horizons.

I've did that in the past and I get all sorts of low effort photos with my eyes closed followed by out of focus garbage and overexposed crap because they started touching the buttons.

I've taken self-portraits with an old dslr on a table+some for height and they look great.

But it was a fucking hassle to get it with manual focus to the point I was supposed to be at + delayed shooting

I like my M50 for that, I can see the image live on my phone and tap the shutter button or change settings remotely

Though I usually use a D700 for portraits.

You cannot take a good photo of yourself with a dedicated camera. Its really painful to setup, get focused and composed, run in there in 2 seconds and pose before the timer goes off. Then have to review it on the back of the camera, and adjust the camera to get a good framing because you need to line yourself up with the background and can only do that once you are in the actual shot.

The girls on tinder dont mind one selfie, but you need photos out and about and you really need somebody to take those.

Trust me op, your energy is better spent handing the camera to others and getting them to take a shot of you on shoots, than trying to take photos of yourself by yourself.

take self portraits, they're surprisingly fun to make (tripod, flash) .. accentuate all of your features with different images. keep it for yourself cause you would never be confident enough to show to other than maybe a few people.

I prefer it that way. Although I don't like taking pictures of people in general. I have no problem if asked but I won't go out of my way to offer.

most decent cameras have interval shooting that can also re-focus for each shot, with Eye-AF it's easy to take a few changing pose

Depending on the camera, there's also an app so you can use your phone for the shutter and focus. The Nikon app is decent enough and you can even adjust aperture and all that shit in the app.
