On some older cameras, shooting +JPG would give me a larger / more detailed playback image for checking shots.
Sometimes I direct print from camera, which requires JPG.
All my images will eventually make their way to a PC anyways, and if I don't want to invest a lot of time processing, I can just 1-click and apply a preset and have JPG's good to go.
