Human eyes aren't perfect, there's the floaters and eyelashes causing artefacts and blooming. Eyes have a narrow depth of field, they lose contrast and saturation in dark environments etc.
I suppose biomimickry and even exaggerating these gives off a feeling of ease.
Having everything in focus and crisp on other hand offers something you may not be used to seeing. A picture may look flat and unreal, sterile. I suppose cinematographers are probably better aware of these things...
