I am very confused about buying a camera, I don't know whether to go DSLR or Mirrorless.

>Budget 1k CAD~
>Like taking photos and want to try my hand at video
>Bought used Canon T7i with a Canon 18-135mm STM lens for 850 CAD after tax 950 CAD~
>don't know whether I should cancel the order and go mirrorless with a Canon m50 mk2
>Already have a Canon 55-250mm STM from my old T5
>Brand new M50 MK2 on Amazon right now is 880 CAD would put me in similar price as my T7i just without the 18-135mm which I really want but could stomach buying separately to adapt to the m50

What do I do? I am really falling for the DSLR is dead meme and I would otherwise not care buying a much cheaper old DSLR but when I am spending an amount where I could potentially get a mirrorless it has me worried. It would also seem to me that the EF-M mount seems dead but I would just be adapting my EF/EF-S lenses anyways.
