Why do some "people" here regard Gregory Crewdson as an artist and even a genius but Garry Winogrand as a propped-up unartistic snapshooter with an "aimless" body of work?

The emperor has no clothes, soon enough you'll realize Winogrand was a fraud hack clicker who didn't even bother developing most of what he shot. Spray and pray snapshit was the name of his game. He'd go through a roll every block more or less. The man didn't like photography as much as he liked making that shutter click.

Because Crewdson plans and tries to portray what he thinks and feels, as it dull and plain as it is.

Someone else is rigging the lights, setting up the camera, actually shooting the shot. Crewdson sits there with sweat under his fat man tits and says “okay now look more sad. We need this to look like the cheapest, most boring episode of x-files ever.”

They're extremely different, but I love the work of both.
I see Crewdson's work as more "artistic" sure, but Winogrand is honestly more inspiring as a photographer. He would wait a year before looking at negs after shooting to have a less bias view of the images. He got me sold on 28mm as the goat focal length too. The neg imprint on his M4's pressure plate is dope too.
Crewdson makes me want to get huge beautiful prints to stare at home, and set up elaborate sets for my own images. Winogrand just makes me want to shoot non-stop.

s22 = 13mm, 22mm / 23mm, 69mm, 230mm
iphone 13 = 13mm, 26mm
pixel 6 = 18mm, 26mm, 104mm
I don't see a 28mm there
iphone 4s / 5 had ~35mm, does that focal length suck too?
a bunch of phones have 50mm equivalent, does that suck too?
