Not saying that there aren't some awesome and incredible black and white photos I'm just saying that everyone knows that shooting in color is far more difficult than shooting in black and white. So are black and white photographers in 2022 cheating when shooting in black and white?

No it's just a different set of stylistic decisions.Also it's not a game so you can't cheat. Some things work better in color, some in black and white.

No. I shoot in b&w on my Sony A7ii just to get an idea of what it will look like in the end. Especially when the sun is too bright, i often decide to shoot in b&w. Lightroom actually puts it back in colour anyway and then i can decide to set it in b&w or not.
Shooting is only part of what makes a picture interesting. Development is where you make real decisions.

the problem with color photography is that in most places the colors suck ass. black and white cares only about amount of light, making things simpler and bringing out the beauty a color photo might not capture

I guess, but I don't see why it would be any more cheating than shooting black and white film. It was even harder to shoot color in the early film days when you didn't have very good stocks, and even worse paper to print on. By that standard Ansel Adams was a bigger cheat than anyone living today.

If you have both thumbs in proper place you can mod (remove the IR cut filter from) a cheap camera but unmodded camera + IR filter with long exposure will give you a taste of it.

If using with unmodified camera, just buy at least 760nm IR pass filter which fits your lens filter threads from chinkexpress. Optical quality of filter is not the limiting factor in that use as long its blocks visible light and passes IR. Moar nm less visible light gets trough.
