Mirrorless was a mistake,
On an executive level the big brands had to commit to a direction after dslr for the next 10-15 years. They would get one shot at this.
Unfortunately they made a bad decision and went with mirrorless.
The gravity of this error is now becoming clear as Smartphones are about to overtake dslr/mirrorless cameras in the next few years due to correctly picking the future which was and always was AI.
I am shocked how little reaction I am seeing from Canon, Sony, Nikon etc.
They need to be getting computers into their cameras ASAP and start implementing AI. If they cannot do this they are done for. The advantages of AI are absolutely phenomenal.
Anybody heard anything or know of any upcoming cameras with AI? Imagine clicking a photo in your camera and it adds perfect film simulation for whatever film you want, ensures perfect exposure, edits the photo for you, gets the white balance perfect. Thats what AI can and will do. I cant wait, just the fun part of photography will remain in taking photos and all the other bullshit will be done by the AI.
In before the person claiming this will never happen, just remember what happened to horses, black and white tv, nokia mobile phones, etc, AI is going to happen and its going to change everything.
