How did film photography go from a poor mans hobby to a rich mans hobby?

=$36 for 36 photos or $1 per click.
My DSLR costs $1500 and can take 150,000 clicks.
That is $150,000 of film photography for $1500. (1/100th the cost)
With these type or price comparisons shooting film just can not be justified.
Is film going to come down in price ever? Its pricing itself out of the market so hard right now.
