I don't know about this one boys. crop sensor high resolution seems to suck the life out of photos.

you know, the higher the resolution the smaller the pixel. There is less light information per pixel the higher the resolution. I can tell.

I just bought a s5 and I didn't want a full frame higher than 24mp.

While I agree with you, A7S III isn't a good example, because it's actually a 48MP quad bayer sensor, downsampled to 12MP.
So it physically has more pixels than the A7R III, you just can't use it in full resolution mode.

Was disappointed with the 40mp images from the X-H2 so after 7 years Fuji x I sold all my gear and went all in Full-Frame. I mean the images are good and all but it's still aps-c and now comparing them with my FF photos I can clearly see a big increase in IQ, "3D effect", etc.

Only downside are the big lenses. And Fuji cameras have a much better looking product design compared to Sony, Canon and Nikon. Fuji and Leica look like Ferrari Testarossa while Nikon and Canon look like Fiat Multipla.

if you take your 44MP photo and you reduce it to an 11MP photo by averaging out 2x2 squares of pixels you get exactly the same performance that a 11MP sensor would have.
if you think your old 16MP dslr has less noise then simply downscale all your photos and you'll get less noise

He is not complaining about file sizes, he is complaining about pixel density. For an apsc body to resolve a 40mp picture, it would need a lens equivalent of a lens that could resolve a FF 100mp body.

yes, because no good photo has ever been taken before this camera was released. also if you care so much about specs, you are seriously loosing out on so much performance by being poor and not going MF. that is, if you take photos of course.

looks like a pixel dense sensor just removes one more factor in the photon to pixel pipeline that can lower your image quality.

this is a meme, the closer we get to 1 photon per pixel the better photos will become, as each pixel will be receiving clean, single photon information instead of distorted by so many multi-directional photos cluttering things up.

You don't care about per pixel, you care about the whole photo. Sampling is just as (or even more) accurate as a larger single, equivalent area input.
