Looking to get into Ektachrome anybody has any tips or advice for shooting it or just post what you have shot with it?

I really want to get that 80s National Geographic look since Kodachrome isn't possible

E-6 in general has been a pain in the ass. Of course the latitude is less. A lot of labs that will develop film will not do E-6 and ship it off somewhere causing an even longer wait. The process seems a little unreliable and the film seems more fragile in terms of heat sensitivity. I've had way more rolls of E100 come back with problems than negatives. Pic related is from a roll that the lab told me came out "thin." The whole roll was super-low contrast tan like that. I had another roll come back with lower than preferred contrast and a blue tint idk why.
My tip would be not to use it on something you need to come out in one try unless you like gambling.

These days I think you will find it is the labs that are unreliable.Temperature control during processing is very important but back in the day a good lab would turn around a roll of E6 in two hours. Problems were very rare but it was incumbent on the photographer to understand the characteristics of the film he was using.

Get some velvia, it's half the price for good slides too
but anyways just a few things :
>use it and dev it quick, it doesn't age well unlike negatives
>get a proper lightmeter and learn to expose properly because it WILL burn your highlights if you're too careless. It's less forgiving than regular negs
>ask for a dev in E6, due to the growth of lomofaggotry some labs will as if you want to cross process it. It's shit.
>get a slide projector, no amount of scanning and posting will equate seeing your pictures on the wall with your loved ones

dawg, e6 doesn't age like that. your lab fucked up using shit / exhausted chemicals.

I bought a brick of the new ektachrome when it came out. Wasn't a fan, seemed to have a bit of a green tint too it as well as an overall coolness. Much prefer Provia

Any of you bought the 400ft roll from Kodak? I'm considering it, works out to around $7-8 per roll but I dont have the cash upfront and I'm hesitant about spooling a 400 footer. Might grab some hand rolls off ebay though.
