street is the same as most other genres, only kidding yourself if you think otherwise
replace people and buildings with trees and mountains and you get landscape
replace people with other species and you get wildlife
put people in jerseys and you have sports
pretend there's something going on and you get event
if someone's well dressed, you got fashion
remove the people, you got architecture or still life
unless you're designing and creating a set, staging and posing your models, and controlling all the lighting, you're always just capturing something happening, not "making" an image
there's way more negative street sentiment here than there is positive, a casual look at the catalog shows this to be true
also, unlike other genres where most of the negativity goes towards the images themselves, street images more often get shit on for simply being street, regardless of quality
people just love to hate on street, probably because they don't like interacting with people
which also explains why landscape gets so much praise
taping looks dumb most of the time, but always funny that people in a hobby revolving around aesthetics get roasted for actually caring about aesthetics in other forms
honestly, if i could buy all my cameras without branding, i 100% would, i just like the look
>>4105990same, on/off here since 2008, streets much more shit on here now than back then
can anyone link a thread where street is seen mostly positive? i can link quite a few current threads with mostly negativity
