I recently bought a full frame mirrorless and 24-70 f2.8 after trying out various bodies/lenses combos at my local store.
After a day of shooting I got delayed onset muscle soreness.
I really like this camera so I don't want to sell it or downgrade.
What do?

Honestly, I use a d780, 24-70mm f2.8 and a massive speedlight for events / concerts. It does get heavy after long nights but having a really comfy sling helps - ditch the branded camera strap or thin seatbelt type straps for a comfy neoprene one. I use a blackrapid harness as a single sling if I'm not shooting with 2 bodies. Also it can help to brace yourself against something, the camera against something, or tuck your arms into your body when using the viewfinder to take some of the load off of your arms.

There are a lot of cosplay events in my country (once a month minimum) and that's what I bought my camera for.
I would sooner use my phone to take pictures of cosplayers because all of the fuji users here are women.

I was using a wrist strap so I was essentially holding it in my right hand for 8 hours.
Would a sling strap be better? I feel like it'd interfere with shooting

The Sony 28-60mm lens is under 200g
The a7c is 500g

I think you'd struggle to find anything lighter from a smaller sensor camera.

Or go with primes, you can get a 35mm f2.8 that's just 80g.

If you still get doms then I'd go see a doctor, you probably have a neurological disorder, using things such as a belt clip for your camera instead of a strap can help alleviate some of the problems associated with this.

The 24mm part is the best part of a 24-70

I'd rather companies started releasing 24-100s and 100-300s thoughever. 70 is too short. 200 is too short.

I do photography as a hobby and work in the film industry. I always find it amusing when photographers talk about their gear weighing so much. Basically all of it is lightweight as shit. Camera bodies are light, lenses are light, tripods weigh nothing. It's laughable. Lift weights or some shit, this is so pathetic.

Like I freehand a 2lb camera with a 4lb 70-200 without anything hurting. The fuck are these people doing, complaining about getting scoliosis from a camera bag with less than 10lbs of gear?

Not in my experience, the camera rests on my hip and I can hold it with one hand to my side if I have have to move quickly, sometimes I carry it up and high if I move through a crowd because people will see my camera and get out of the way, haha.
Also the strap length is long enough so I can still hold the camera over my head and use the back screen to shoot, or lower down - same thing.
