Went to the Leica store to try out the M11. I've never had the pleasure of using a Leica so wanted to compare it to my Fujifilm X100F. Holy fuck the Leica is such a meme. Heavy as fuck with shitty ergonomics. Hard as fuck to use rangefinder. No autofocus. No video capabilities. Why the fuck would anyone want this German shit.

I haven't been cucked but it's the closest analogy that I can think of, someone else getting what's yours and you only getting to watch what they let you, indirectly. You're getting the photons until you take the picture. The photons that go to the sensor are the ones that aren't yours. With mirrorless, you get some secondhand photons, replicas of what the sensor is seeing. You're getting simulacra instead of the real deal.

It has ergos roughly comparable to a canon AE1. So, crap. It's just built to look old, not to look good. With the later X100 series cameras they finally pulled a sony and added a few dials for you to remap instead of trying to design good defaults.

Oh and the larp viewfinder is totally fucking pointless. But I'm sure you can remap the faux-timer switch for it to something else.

Fuji: Sony's camera designers, but we market to women and the kind of skinny hipster that thinks there's a valid reason to commute on a fixed gear bicycle.

But the weight of the camera itself is very little. Camera bags are usually 10-20lbs for the largest formats. Elementary school students shoulder about that much... effortlessly.

I do 35mm, 110 and have a couple of much smaller and lighter 120 cameras. I have a Moskva-5, a Fuji GS645S and an Iskra 6x4.5, the RB is when i'm out hiking and not doing snap shits.

Photography should be fun, so I have those other 3 for when I'm just out and about and when I have planned trips like in February when I stay in the Smokies for two weeks I can bring the big guns and actually try.

Don't forget to have fun with your camera, not everything has to be 3deep5u Natgeo shit, pic related

The only reason to buy a Leica M is if you enjoy rangefinder focussing. I've owned a M8, M9 and M240 but ultimately got sick of it and sold that shit for profit two out of three times.
The lenses are incredible though. Even the £500 Zeiss 50mm is stellar.

I think you're mistaking her documentary work for her artistic work, which is understandable, since she presents the two side by side. I can see an Indian mound in the background behind that truck, this was likely taken at some sort of heritage event.

I see a hill. I don't know where she lives or what the terrain is like. It could be there for any reason. It's kind of a gay photograph. Definitely not one of the best. Definitely not so deep as she thinks. You can weave deep symbolism into the most docile and random photo with accompanying text and someone who's visually drawn can see dozens of things in just about anything, drawing on their experiences.

A calendar a year is pretty good regardless? Still I think you need to be more discerning and not take photos assuming people will care about who you are.

People in an entire half of the country are not used to seeing indian burial mounds and don't assume every artificial looking hill might be one. Prolific burial mound building is typical of the east and midwest US. Why most of the Fujifags are this fucking dense? X100v is a nice camera, but you guys are making it to be like a second coming of Christ. Its far from being a perfect camera. It was overpriced when released and the hype you guys give for the camera made it even more expensive. Fuji even has better options.
