Why do people buy cameras with fixed prime lenses that they rarely use afterwards because of how boring photography becomes with them? I get primes for a system camera but for a point and shoot they're shooting yourself in the foot. Back in the day it was hard to get a well-corrected zoom for a good price, but nowadays that point is void. To add insult to injury these "compacts" are often bigger than an equivalent system camera with lens.
