They are ok. Battery capacity usually isn't as good as an OEM one and there are occasions when third party ones don't play nice with some sort of DRM. But overall worth it at least with the wasabi and kastar ones I've done.

they discharge faster and eventually bloat, making them hard to remove. depends on the frequency of use.

Genuine batteries made for asian market are just as good as wester market ones but in half price and printed texts may be in hierogyphs only. Clones are even cheaper but tend to lose charge fast and eventually fail. And a failing battery may bloat until it can't fit in the space allocated for it.

Try find genuine for chinks. Nips pay premium for electronics (as far as I know which may not be that accurate).

sometimes they're the same as oem
sometimes they have shorter longterm battery life
sometimes they drain a bit faster in use
sometimes they don't work in newer cameras / firmware
i've found them generally more prone to bloating, but that can happen with most batteries
when i was poor, i opted for the cheap ones and was fine, but now i mostly stick to oem

cheap chargers are 100% worth it though

Here is the one which made me to stop buying clones.
I now use a original 2021 chinese market version and the original from 2013 which came with my (2nd hand) camera, both are fine.

All of my wasabis have bloated to the point that putting them in a camera is dangerous. You can't 'see' the bloat, but you can feel it in your hands because they're not actually flat on the sides, and you have to literally beat the camera on your hand to get the battery to come out afterward.

I only alternate between two OEM Fuji batteries now, one of which is nearly a decade old but still working fine.

I live in a very humid environment fwiw. Your mileage may vary.

They don't last as long generally but when you can get 2 3rd party batteries + a charging doc for less then a single 1st party one there's no reason not to get a few imo.

no, because i disposed of them. they did last for several years befor doing so, it was not immediate. they just eventually expanded to be a rather tight fit, and i had to slapstop them out of the camera. the original from 2014, is still in action and is good physical condition.

They usually discharge noticeably faster. I've never had an issue with bloating. But I always get first party batteries if I can. But I do have an old DSLR which I can only get 3rd party batteries for and I've never had an actual issue other than needing to carry more batteries with me.

Literally there's no reason to spend x4 the price on "official" bateries. Just get those and will last the same most of the time. Had a similar ones for one of those Nikon models

all of them are fucking worthless after a few months. don't do it

My OEM Canon battery started to swell so I gambled on Wasabi brand batteries.
I have exposed it to 103°F and -4°F and all of them still hold a longer charge than my old one.

Mine (other chinkshit batteries for a similar price) stopped charging after 4 months, I used them no more than 5 times.
