Anyone used a Nikon P900/P1000? How are they for general photography? Was thinking of snatching one up to prove to the family that the earth is flat. But if I can use it for other things too it'd be nice.

Anyone ever photographed or filmed "planets" with this thing? Or brought back ships that already disappeared over the horizon?

Get a theodolite instead and do a geodetic survey. Map out an area the size of which round earthers claim that the curvature would be apparent and demonstrate that it is actually flat.

You can prove flat earth with 3 plane tickets and a compass. 1st fly to southern Florida and find crux at night and measure it’s direction.
Next fly to Baja California and do the same thing.
As south in Florida is in a different direction than south in Baja California obviously crux will be in different locations and your compass measurements will show that.
Make sure to take lots of pictures and keep us updated on your progress.

Maybe not so good for general photography, but I taught my mom the basics of camera stuff and she figured out what the buttons do on her own. She takes out the p1000 almost every day to look for birbs and deer on the walking trails, she gets pretty good photos for fun with it.
It's funny because I have no fkn clue how it works really, kindof hard to shoot in manual mode for me but again it's probably because I have no idea how it works.

Sometimes I'll take the d500 and a 200-500mm f5.6 out with her, or my x100v to just take snapshits, or just no camera and enjoy the nature with her. I love my mom.
