My mom gave me a 1000€ camera for Xmas. I don’t have any history with photography other than capturing cool landscapes in my travels with my phone. What advice would you give me to make the best out of it?

Alright, here's a comprehensive guide:
1. familiarize yourself with the operation of your camera
2. go out with your camera in-hand
3. photos
4. review your photos to see what you did well and what you could improve
5. repeat

Real cameras lack automated processing and are more difficult to use than phones

Turn on exposure preview and the histogram and watch what manual mode settings do
